whatsyourz answer: Most of my good days start with me focusing on the good…

To have a good day, I just need to make an effort to focus on the right things...

to focus on the positive in my life...

and when I look around and see...

that I can see, I can hear, I can walk and talk and and that I have clothes on my back and a roof over my head, I have a job, I have people who like me and even people who love me, a great man in my life, fantastic friends and a loving and forgiving God...

and.... even on my worst days....

when it feels like everything's going wrong... I try to remember that... as bad as it seems, it could be soooo much worse sooo then I'm grateful that it's not worse...

Soooo what do you think... what does it for you? What's your thing or things that create a good day for you.. tell me... whatsyourz?

whatsyourz answer: If I could time travel, I'd go back in time...

If I could time travel, I'd go back in time... I'd change my past... and go back to high school... and I'd do all the things that I used to be sooo scared to attempt or try... which (if 'Back to the Future' is anything to go by) then changing my past would also change my present... and that in turn... would change my future too... I imagine...

But... those twists and turns along the wrong and certainly those bumps in the road of my life... the good and the bad... have all made me who I am today...

Sooo.... maybe I'd just take the winning lottery number from this week and go back a few days... just far enough to buy a lottery ticket... hehe

I can't read the dictionary enough!

I just love words! I love the sound of some words. I find it so interesting how some words are spelled and I revel in the rare and unique meanings of certain words... especially those that I've never heard of.
I love learning new words.
I even receive a daily word-of-the-day alert from dictionary.com and I really enjoy that...

Rocks are all over my place..
Rocks... I collect rocks, I like how they look, some sparkle, some are so nice and smooth and some are...

...just like people... rough around the edges but sooo beautiful on the inside... I love that!...

I like rocks and pick them up where-ever I go... and even though they are not practical or useful, I still keep bringing them home cause I can't help myself... hehe...

Deep down, you know it... cats are really running things... Cats are sneaky, and always getting away with things and blaming poor goofy dogs.

Plinky is one of my new favorite sites! Plinky is "...the brainchild of the one of the original blogger team-members, Jason Shellen." at least that's what I read in the Blogger Buzz one day. Well... I like blogger so I thought... hey let me go check out that site.

I just looooooooooooooovvvvvvveeee plinky! The plinky people (creators, team-members, etc) will post a question, at plinky a question is called a prompt. Then anybody and everyone... well at least anybody and anyone who is a member... may answer the prompt that is posted.

The answers can be read by everyone and even commented on. Even when there is a prompt with a multiple choice answer instead of a fill-in type answer, if you click preview answer then... a box will appear that you can fill-in.

If or when pot is legalized, I foresee... much less stress in the workplace, less aggressive driving, less stress in general and.. less stress-related diseases but... although... it could also mean...more attacks of the munchies, more dead brain cells, and more deadlines not met on time..

but... maybe we'd care less about those things anyway... hmmmm....

Truth be told... I think it should be legalized but... its not up to me.

my mother is someone I admire

She raised 3 kids on her own, doing whatever she could to put us first, in the best way that she knew how, with no help from our father. We'd get a few new outfits when school started and in the summer and she'd go without something new. When we grew out of our clothes or they wore out, we got new stuff, she went without anything new. We ate first, she ate last.

She always put us first in all aspects.

The other night, I was having a rough time of it and I realized that maybe it had something to do with the fact that I hadn't visited one of my new fav sites... butterbeehappy, I hadn't posted any happy thoughts, which means I hadn't focused or thought of any positive things going on in my life lately and that is no good.

With everything that's going on in the world, with the earthquakes, tornados, and rocket launches. it is sooo important to focus on what we do have, focus on our blessings... even if they're few and far between.

I'm sure that if you focus and think hard enough you can come up with 3 to 5 things to be thankful for... I know I can... let's see...

I'm grateful that I am alive.
I'm grateful that I can hear birds tweeting outside my front door.
I'm grateful that I can see all the beautiful colors that make up the sunset.
I'm grateful for dark chocolate, angel hair pasta, coffee, coffe and coffee..
I'm grateful for the honesty and innocence of children

Soo.. that's my list... well only part of the many things I am grateful for... What about you... What are the things that make you happy? What are the things that bring you joy? What's your list of blessings... whats yourz?

postsecret: suicidal gym thoughts..

The card says, "I only think about killing myself when I work out at the gym. I know that no matter how hard I try, I'll never be thin or average. I often wonder if any of the other big girls around me are thinking the same thing."

It is terrible the thoughts that can go through our heads, we treat ourselves worse than any enemy we've ever had, we think the worst thoughts and don't let ourselves make mistakes that others are allowed.

I hope that whoever submitted this card to Post Secret and whoever feels suicidal at all, it is no joke. It's very important to seek out some kind of counselling even if its anonymous one of those hotlines.

First off, not everyone was meant to be a size 2 or skinny or thin or even average soooo the best thing to do is to work towards getting healthy and to take things just like an alcholic, take them one day at a time and to celebrate the little victories which, in the end have the potential to begin huge victories.

It's definitely not easy getting out there, and exercising and working out and it's especially embarrassing in front of people who actually are height/weight proportionate which is why those places like Curves are so much better because, it's all women and a less threatening atmosphere than other gyms.

We were not meant to be cut-out cookies, if everyone looked the same, the world would be a very boring place of Kens and Barbies. Life is precious!

To those of you who are new to my blog, this is not my usual type of blog but, I felt that I had something to say so I said it.

Sometimes it's all about what you focus on... if you focus on the negative I'm sure that you can come up with all kinds of reasons, I know, I've been there but try focusing on the positive... and you'll see that everything... even hard things are easier to get through when you focus on the positive.

museum of hoaxes - April Happy Fool's Day!

Sooo have you heard the one about the guy who got caught cheating because his wife saw his car in front of some other woman's apartment via _oogle maps street view? Yeah it was in the Sun...

Or how about Taco Bell being the proud owners of the Liberty Bell (now termed Taco Liberty Bell)...

It is.. after all.. April Fool's Day... are these stories true... or are they false? Well these stories were stories at one time, people got all excited and riled up over them and none of them were true.. but they were all pranks, April Fool's pranks.

And then there are the true stories which started out to be pranks like... the town called Agloe in New York which was not a real town when Esso put the town name on their maps... but then it became a real town... but now it's not a real town again... hehe

Find out which stories were really true and which were made up just as pranks to mess with our heads.

Having a positive outlook or attitude can take you far in this sometimes very negative world. Top psychologists and researchers say that positivity is beneficial to your well-being, which in turn can make it beneficial to your health... I really believe that...

Ever start a day and you're already feeling kinda gloomy because of the weather and then one thing will go wrong and you'll say to yourself, "Oh this is gonna be a bad day! :(" and then... what do ya know.. you do have a bad day... why not... you already told yourself that it was gonna be a bad day, and then every little thing that happened after that, that was bad... made it a bad day...

and what about the opposite.... ever start a day off, the sun is shining and maybe you got up on time, and you're thinking, "this is going to be a great day!" and what happens... all the little things that go your way, contribute to your great day and those things that don't go your way... well they don't bother you as much as they would have on a bad day...

Obviously... attitude can not be attributed to some good or bad things that happen like, losing your job or the bus hitting you but... having a positive attitude and focusing on the good things instead of the bad things... it can help you when bad things come your way...

I've gotten off the point just a little... (hehe) oh well I tend to do that...

This site ButterBeeHappy.com is a cute little site... its new, very new... started a little over a year ago so there are some kinks that need to be worked out but... the concept is great!

The sites home page suggests that you join to be able to journal via the site. In truth, what they call a 'journal' is actually a list of five things that you can fill out on a daily basis. The site is about positivity so they suggest that you list 5 positive things... it can be something that happened to you today, last year, whatever... just list 5 positive things and that's your journal entry for the day.

I joined the site to see what it was like & decided to post my own positive 5... which you can see in the speech cloud where the butterbeehappy bee is in the right column.

Plus's:

~ i like/love any site that pushes a positive outlook over a negative one

~ in general, it's a great concept!

~ the site does have potential to become something big and popular

~ the site has a nice look to it, a cute name & logo

Minuses:

~ it's just a little baby site, it's a junior site that hasn't exactly found it's legs yet

~ you have to create your own community by getting your friends to join the site

anywho.. I do like this site & I believe it has the potential to be great! But for now... it's still a fun little post-it note of a thing... & it's interesting to go on there & see others positive thoughts & ideas.

so that's the buzzzzzzz on this cute lil 1 yr old site... it's one of my fav sites to visit... how bout you?... whats yourz?

For those who enjoy the gross, I've got just the place for you... it's the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia, Pa.

Just one visit to museum's site and you'll see that it's not your average medical museum, the site refers to ones of the museum exhibits as 'Disturbingly Informative'... hehe and it is soooo true.

The museum was founded to educate future doctors but the museum houses exhibits which seems to draw one and all...

If the collection of skulls don't creep you out and if you're not bothered by the Siamese twins and their conjoined livers, then maybe you wouldn't mind delving a little deeper and checking out...

... the 2,000 objects removed from people's throats... (uhmm yuck)

or... the cancerous growth removed from Grover Cleveland (ewwh!)

or... the world's largest colon... removed from a guy who died of constipation! ... (Awwhhh... ewwhhh... teehee)

Yep this museum is quite unique and I guess informative if that's where your interests lie...

although it was an odd find....
